Urbanautica, Journal of Visual Anthropology and Cultural Landscapes, is recognized for its critical and reflective approach to photography and collaborates with museums and cultural institutions on exhibitions and educational activities.
AUTO GRAPHS is a photographic investigation of subscapes: the layered, hidden systems embedded within the built environment—structures that are not always visible at ground level, that become legible when viewed from above. The city, rather than a series of architectural forms, becomes a surface of inscriptions: grids, scars, seams, circulations, and interruptions. From this vantage point, the landscape becomes a diagram of attempts to create order and simultaneous traces of disorder. Streets become veins of circulation. Property lines reveal invisible agreements. Parking lots form fields of asphalt geometry.
